The PGA Tour Descends On Pebble Beach

Noted as one of the most exciting events on the PGA Tour’s line-up, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is on the horizon. Taking place February 6-12th, 2017 at three of the area’s most prestigious golf courses, Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore, 156 professionals and 152 amateurs will take to the green in pursuit of the big win. The 2017 professional purse is $7,200,000 with defending champion Vaughn Taylor, and the first place prize for the amateur division is $1,260,000.

Over 190,000 spectators are anticipated at the epic affair, which millions will be watching worldwide. The Monterey Peninsula Foundation is proud to host the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and in the 2015/16 fiscal year alone, the Foundation donated $10.8 million to support local nonprofits in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties.

Beginning in Rancho Santa Fe, California in 1937 when Bing Crosby and friends simply wanted to play some golf, enjoy a clambake and raise a little money for charity, the annual face-off has grown into a world renowned event. The first annual event awarded the winner with a $500 check…while today the purse is in excess of $7 Million dollars. Times have changed, however the friendly skies remain ready to welcome you on your journey to your next destination.
