STA Jets CEO & President Kurt Belcher Honored Among OC Metro’s Annual “40 Under 40” Recognition

SANTA ANA, California – May 17, 2013 – Kurt Belcher, CEO and president of STA Jets, was recognized today as one of the select “40 Under 40” honorees in the annual program conducted by OC Metro magazine. This year’s assembly of honorees was celebrated at a special evening event hosted by OC Metro at Newport Lexus in Newport Beach, Calif. STA Jets is a leading provider of executive charter, aircraft management, and aircraft sales and acquisition services based at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, CA. The “40 Under 40” group encompasses a wide ranging selection of young high achievers in business, non-profit, government and education who have achieved exemplary milestones in their careers.

A lifelong aviation enthusiast, Belcher has risen through the ranks of the aviation community in a distinguished career spanning over a decade, from work as a flight instructor and corporate commercial pilot to the purchase and sale of private jets worldwide to corporations, individuals and governments. In addition, he owned and operated a fixed base-operator jet center, which he sold at the age of 27.

Belcher purchased STA Jets in 2009 and took it from one aircraft to nine within the first year. It is currently the only heavy jet operator at John Wayne Airport and is seeing a banner year of growth in 2013. He is a member of Gen Next, an organization of accomplished area individuals aimed at overcoming generational challenges in the areas of economic growth, education and international security. His philanthropic involvements include Pretend City Children’s Museum, Beckstrand Cancer Foundation, Miracles for Kids and Orangewood Children’s Foundation.
